View Full Version : Vysectomy/Tubes Tied

Unknown

How many husbands or wives here have had either a vysectomy or their tubes tied? I always say that if someone (husband or wife) hasn't done something permanent that there is another baby wanted by one or the other because if not then you would do something permanent about the situation! Well unless one is not able to have kids of coarse!

Well neither of us have, but if/when we have a third my dh is going in for the vasectomy. We actually talked about this last night, lol. He won't get it done right away, not until we both are sure that we don't want anymore kids.

Jamie's had a vasectomy done.
I think Bailey was about five months old when he had it done.

We're both done having babies. When we got married we both agreed on no more than two kids, and now that we have that, baby making is over for us!

It is a very quick procedure, but it's not always easy.
My husband got an infection and had to go into the hospital twice a day for a week for IV antibiotics. I don't think I've ever seen him in so much pain before, and I was there when he broke his shoulder and had two seperate operations to put in and then remove screws.

The nurses called him captain beans, because his 'beans' were really swollen and infected.

Wow he must have bad luck, lol, isn't it only .05 percent that get an infection?

My ex had it done a LONG time ago when they actually cut you!

Yeah.

He's talked to four other people he knows and they had similar things happen to them too. Must be something with him and his friends.

Ugh if my dh read this he wouldn't want to go in lol. I might have a c-sec next time round, you can get your tubes tied then right? We only want two kids.

I also was going to get my tubes tied if i had a c section but since I didn't, dh got fixed since the risks for women, though rare, are FAR greater than for men.

This is an interesting topic between me and my husband....We decided that one kid is enough for us, he was the first one completely CONVINCED of this, but when I ask him to have a vasectomy he just kind of....ignores me...:chatter: In the meantime I'm on the pill which I don't like AT ALL. He knows I'm absolutely afraid of needles and all hospital related things but still he kind of dances around the subject when I bring it up....You gotta wonder sometimes

My mum had her tubes tied as soon as my brother was born by scheduled c-section... over 28 years ago!

That's frustrating!!! I can't even be on the birth control pill because not only does it increase the risk of breast cancer (and my risk is already incredibly high!), but it also causes migraines for me and those things are horrible!!!

I had migraines too on the pill for the first few months and then my body got used to it, I guess because I persevered and here I am...headache free and on the pill.

Tell him he can go in and get it done properly or he'd better sleep with one eye open because you're gonna 'fix' him yourself one night. ;) :muahaha: (Disclaimer in the event that Claudia does take matters into her own hands: I was JOKING!!)

I am terrified of getting preggers again! 2 under 2 is enuf 4 both of us! London is 19months & Teaghan is 7 weeks. Neither was planned & i was on the pill when both were conceived! And Wes will be 40 in Dec. Hes getting fixed and i was thinking of getting my tubes tied 2. My midwife suggested i look in2 that new Mirena IUS. And i think thats the thing 4 me. Im not big on going in 4 surgery. The only thing prohibitive about this Mirena is the cost. Im going 2 c the gyno at the end of this month. Just my 2 cents!

I know how you feel. When I got pregnant with my third, it meant that I'd have three under three and he was a pill baby too! I was switching from one pill to another brand and my doctor's intern insisted it would be fine to go from one to the next without any concern. No, it wasn't. And now I have a wonderful surprise who is 5 1/2. But I cried almost daily though that pregnancy. All is good now though. :)

I'd looked into Mirena too but the thing that stopped me there is as much as I don't like the Pill or some of the other methods of birth control is that at least if I want to stop, I can stop it instantly. Mirena you have to go have it removed and that makes me, personally, a little panicky...lol. Like the Depo shot, I always thought what if it didn't agree with my body. I'd be injected with it and then what? How do you uninject yourself...lol?

Love the names Logan and Teaghan by the way!

I hate hearing stories about people who get pregnant after a vasectomy....makes me worry. lol. Then again, Anthony wouldn't be all that fertile anyway after all the chemo and stuff....

Do you know what kind of vasectomy this guy had? Was it the no-scalpel kind?

I have no idea. All I know is I emailed the bugger from my home account to tell him he was not going to be hanging around rather than my web account which is linked in by accident. Damn it.

You'd think he wouldn't be with all that but you never know...

Hi everyone;

I just joined this site. I am 25 and i have a daughter that is 9 months old. She is the joy of my life.

I am a single working mother with a home in Surrey BC.

I was shocked to hear from my friend Brian that you banned him for his first post on this forum. He is the father of my daughter and i love him dearly. He truly was a godsend to me and i have a healthy child to show his generosity.

Now i'm reading comments from the admins calling him a "bugger"? what kind of public chat is this? The admins sound like they are the ones that should be banned for being rude and ignorant.:ban:

I'm sorry to have to post this here. I am certain the admins will be banning me in the next few minutes as well.

Sad, very sad.

Hello Hana,

My that got around quick to you from Brian. Brian and I are currently in the midst of discussing his post and intentions via email before I make any permanent decisions in regard to his membership status. His post is not permently deleted but hidden from members at the moment.

I, as the owner of this domain and site, have an obligation to protect members and users from abuse on here as best I can and when a lone person comes in without introduction and starts discussing how they donate sperm and that it's an option for people and they have a, we'll say 'unique' email address, it raises red flags. And I'm sure you can understand that - especially as a Mother of a young child. I am not apt to condone sperm donation outside of an authorized clinic to women that may not have proper support. These are children we are talking about, not something disposable. By you calling Brian your friend, it seems to imply that it's personal sperm donation not professional which again, raises caution about his intent on here.

Yes, I did call him a bugger and banned him. I stand by that at the moment with the way his post came across. I get an enormous amount of inappropriate spam on here daily that needs to be weeded out and his post happens to fall under that category until I have further discussion with him. This is not a public site. The public may join, however, it is my site. I pay for it and set the rules and regulations for participation that must be adhered to in order to belong and being able to continue to post. If need be, I'll forward you a copy of them so that you are very clear on them.

What Brian should have done was immediately contact me to inquire as to why he's banned rather than send you in to talk in the forum on his behalf. You are not sorry for posting this here or you'd have emailed me direct as the email address is easily located on this site.

I could ban you too but I'm not inclined to. Both you and Brian can post in this section of the forum and this section alone without being a member anyway so really, it's redundant.

Hi Kristen.

I am sorry. I did come across too strong in my first post. I was just angry to hear you banned him so fast. He did email me after being banned and sent me copies of the emails he received from you. It was my idea to post in here myself in his defense.

I did not see the post he made here so i cannot comment on the terminology used. He just told me he had posted his alternative to a vysectomy and was banned. Perhaps he worded it sounding like he was peddling I don't know.

I totally understand the need for moderation in forums. I will not remain in a forum that is loaded with spam or advertisements. It is nice to see this site so clean and easy to use so i should thank you for that. I am going to have a read through some of the other topics and hope i can contribute in some way.

I will try to stay out of the discussion you are having with Brian. I just wanted to say i support him. He is a very nice man.

I hope you will accept my apology for my previous post. :prettyplease:

Hana.

No worries, Hana. It's all good. When I'm not in owner/admin mode, I'm not always as diplomatic...hehe. I hope you do stick around. There are some great people on here and we are always looking for new members that we can get to know and who contribute because without everyone, I wouldn't have this site. :)

It's good for him to have such a strong person in his corner. We should all be so lucky. :)

I will continue with him though I haven't heard from him after my last email. But I promise to give him a fair shake. I'm not closed minded just cautious by nature. :)
